I Shall Take This Moment to Write

In the morning still and quiet

Before the chaos and riot

I shall take this moment to write

The minutes before

You crash through the door

And my thoughts once again take flight

When the dull roars a din

And my thoughts creep back in

And the world is amazingly right

The beauty and power

Of a solitary hour

When you’re tucked in bed for the night

After setting of sun

And the day’s all but done

I shall take this moment to write
